The Facility Utility Person is responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and installation of various equipment. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Inspect and replace diaphragm valves and change drive belts on Dust Collectors,
  • Repair trolleys and rails on powder racks,
  • Install /remove muffles, dissemble and re-install front ends and drives, pull out and return burner tubes, replace gaskets and covers on Cremer Furnaces,
  • Take apart, remove muffle, tile work, bricklaying, change cover, clean and grind down build ups in muffle on driver furnaces,
  • Daily monitoring of belts, install, repair, and timely shortening of belts,
  • Change/repair pressure pumps, hydraulics and coolant lines on chip blasters and CNC’s,
  • Assist Millwrights with various tasks,
  • Change air/oil filters, and oil lines on compressors,
  • Mounting, cleaning and installing fans,
  • Flooring repairs as needed,
  • Installing and bolting down rail guarding,
  • Replacement of light bulbs,
  • Monitor water softeners; change filters, clean tanks and checking for water hardness,
  • Change and dispose of red volts 2,
  • Ordering of oils and chemicals,
  • Repairing air leaks on various equipment,
  • Participate on the spill response team; and
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met
  • Any other duties as required.

Our requirements :

Education and/or Experience:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.

Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift license
  • Propane handling license
  • Transporting dangerous goods
  • Confined spaces level 1 operations
  • Working at Heights training
  • Sky jack, Genie Boom and Lift truck training

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in English.

Work Environment (including Physical Demands):

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to heat, dust and oils.
