Description:
Job Summary: Responsible to maintain physical plant and equipment to ensure 100% production up-time. Maintain, PM and ensure robustness of production equipment. Ensure safety of all manufacturing equipment and facilities in the plant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Electrical/Millwright certificate and minimum 5 years of related work experience
- High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures
- Complete understanding and knowledge of lock out procedures
- Knowledge of machine rigging procedures
- Basic knowledge of machining and welding
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications and manuals
- Ability to incorporate technical reports
- Good English Communication Skills (oral and written)
- Thorough knowledge of blue print reading and interpretation
- Possess good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- PLC programming /training a definite asset
- Forklift license is an asset
- Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial Canada rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea Industrial Canada
- Preventative maintenance of all production equipment
- Plan, layout, install and repair complex wiring circuits and distribution systems to the applicable codes
- Install and maintain complex electrical and electronic components of varied equipment
- Responsible for housekeeping, work area, parts and equipment
- Complete routine paperwork as required
- Address safety issues
- Diagnose and remedy all electrical troubles and repair and replace all electrical apparatus
- Occasionally performs work in other trade
- Has required experience to use to use electrical tools, measuring and testing equipment
- Work from complex wiring drawings, code books and similar documents
- Work independently and with minimum supervision
- Has knowledge of and repairs CNC and PLC controls
- Ability to Write programs on various PLC
- Programming of PLC and other relate equipment
- Any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
- Able to start, stop and operate all shop equipment
- Has a detailed knowledge of applied electrical practices, techniques and the theory and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and controls
- Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds
- Maybe required to work overtime, weekends or alternate shifts
- Provide assistance, guidance and advice to Apprentices as required
- Liaise with internal departments for design input, fabrication and modifications to equipment
- Ensure timely completion of repairs, fixtures etc. as required so production is not interrupted
- Work closely with Supervisor to ensure plant, machines and equipment are capable of producing Production requirements
- Assist in the validation of new / used equipment transferred to plant
- Ensure preventative maintenance program are done based on assigned schedules
- Trouble shooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting
- Follow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock out/ tag out procedures are followed at all times
- Must notify supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
- Demonstrate 5S Methodology in your work area
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
