Description:

As the Maintenance Technician, you will report to the Maintenance Manager. In your role, you will work within the facility to troubleshoot, repair, and install both electrical and mechanical equipment.

Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the maintenance manager to ensure that the day-to-day maintenance needs of the operation are met and together develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance program
  • Future possibilities may include coordinating the day-to-day maintenance/repair needs within the greenhouse operation from both an electrical and mechanical perspective (work with the maintenance manager to develop an action plan)
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical issues with packaging equipment and general facility electrical needs
  • Electrical wiring of new bunkhouses, offices, and other new construction projects as required
  • Ensure all equipment receives the required preventative maintenance
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and spare parts are kept tidy and organized
  • Provide recommendations of upgrades/improvements for production equipment and the facility
  • Ensure that adequate inventory of material/supplies are available to support routine maintenance needs
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to sub-contractors as required
  • Must have a high level of ingenuity to support the optimization of greenhouse equipment
  • Has a good working knowledge in electrical, automation, and possess mechanical skills in order to carry out general farm maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, welding, etc.)
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Must have the ability to not only work independently, but also in a team environment with our growers and maintenance team
  • Must have valid electrical license
  • Required to be in an on-call rotation
  • Some early mornings or late days are required to complete equipment maintenance of production equipment
