ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland. Enjoy a short two hour flight direct to our well-equipped camp and mining operation - only a five minute drive from Woodie airport.

Reporting to the Superintendent: Mobile Maintenance the successful applicant will be required to:

  • Management of Registerable Plant (Classified Plant)
  • Tyre Management
  • Upkeep of ARC Register.
  • Oversee Major bucket repairs and overhauls.
  • Management of machine & parts warranty claims.
  • Be accountable for the execution of machine shuts.
  • Maintain a safe system of work by promoting and demonstrating safe work practices for all tasks and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Assist with the development of the long-term plan and schedule of mobile maintenance activities and fleet maintenance which consists of predominantly Cat, Hitachi and Komatsu equipment i.e. Cat 6020b, Komatsu PC1250 Excavators, Cat 980H, 988H, 992K & 988K Loaders, Cat 16M Graders, Cat D10t & 854K Dozers, 777G, Dump Trucks & 777F Water Carts;
  • Prioritise equipment and organising personnel effectively to ensure workshop efficiency, high machine availability and reliability.
  • Oversee maintenance contractors, monitoring compliance to contract obligations/scope and workshop/site safety standards.
  • Understand Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contractual processes.

Provide technical guidance and coaching to mobile maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Trade qualified mobile plant fitter – Heavy
  • Supervisory experience in the maintenance field of an operational mine.
  • Possess a C Class drivers’ license.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Solid experience managing employee relations; leadership coaching, technical coaching, managing personnel against KPI’s and company values.
  • Experience with field service repairs, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnostics.
  • Ability to understand and interpret OEM manuals and schematics.
  • Product knowledge of Komatsu & Cat equipment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff on all levels.
  • Willingness to improve and add knowledge to the team through mentoring and support of the crew.
  • Strong commitment to following health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
    High level of computer literacy, particularly Pronto, CAT SIS, ET systems and MS office suite.
