DESCRIPTION:
Part Time licensed mammography technologist needed for a growing breast center. Knowledge of stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations and bone densities needed, as well as screening and diagnostic mammography. Hologic equipment.
Demonstrates competence when performing routine and complex breast imaging following departmental guidelines.
Monitors the functioning of breast imaging equipment and reports malfunctions as soon as possible to the BCC Lead Tech or BCC Manager
Provides patients with educational information associated with breast health and mammography, including breast self exam
Consistently ensures good patient care, comfort, safety and confidentiality following the guidelines established by HIPAA
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Must be certified and registered with ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) as a Radiologist Technologist and a Mammography Technologist. Must hold a valid up to date Commonwealth of Massachusetts License with MSRT (Massachusetts Society Radiologic Technologists) BLS required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exerts up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands). Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist), and kneels (bending the legs at the knee to come to rest on knee or knees).
