Description:
Key skills of the Interim Management Accountant:
- Strong IT skills – so ability to collate data into information
- Must be able to work on their own initiative, but strike a balance between feedback to senior management
- Clear and concise communication skills –both written and oral
- Able to engage with stakeholders using persuasive language not confrontational
- Knowledge in at least one of the following systems – ACCESS, RM, Sims/FMS
- Ability to work under pressure, juggling various priorities and timelines
- Part or Fully Qualified Accountant
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Management Accountant:
- Processing and understanding all Data in relation to Adult Social Care, DSG and Schools
- Ensuring all projections and scenario planning is done in accordance with the data
- Complete full Cost Benefit analysis
- Reporting to senior members / stakeholders and what the data means to them and their department and how their budgets might be affected
- Ensuring High Risk areas of spend are assessed appropriately and the payback period is agreed
- Assisting with the Implementation of new finance system
- Strategic support – analysis of budgets and spend across Childrens/Adults Social care and Schools
- Transactional support – payments, month end reconciliation, VAT submittal
