THE OPPORTUNITY

With a growing diverse portfolio of quality animal products Dechra Veterinary Products is seeking an experienced and passionate Management Accountant. This role will primarily be responsible for providing financial support to the NZ business (from Australia), in all areas of financial and account management. This position will be 4 days per week, with the potential to increase in the future.
Main Responsibilities

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Management of the NZ purchasing process
  • Inventory and working capital management and tracking
  • Provide support to the NZ Country Manager on S&OP tasks and liaise with Australia supply chain team
  • Export sales management: Take ownership of the portal, process and documentation for all export sales including planning and invoicing for all Export sales
  • Accounts management: bank reconciliations, cash applications and NZ invoicing (payables)
  • Support with Australia invoicing (payables)
  • Take ownership of the NZ Balance Sheet, month-end closing processes and reviews
  • Update and maintenance of the NZ Price List
  • Update and maintenance of the NZ Supplier and Customer Lists
  • NZ internal controls implementation and tracking
  • Support on audit requirements for the NZ business
  • Ad-hoc Finance projects and other duties as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting position. We would also be interested in hearing from you if you are ready for the next stage in your career to become a junior finance controller
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting, or working towards
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Sound experience of Microsoft Office, Power BI and ERP systems (Xero)
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
