  • Position Overview

The position is part of the General Accounting Team reporting to the ANZ Accounting Controller. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the of the company’s inventory and standard cost master files and compliance with the relevant accounting standards with respect to inventory, sales & cost of sales. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for inventory master data integrity in ERP System.

  • Primary Objectives
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the inventory and cost master, compliance with the relevant accounting standards and completion of the monthly accounting tasks and reports associated with inventory, sales and cost of sales.
  • Assist in the SOX Program in relation to inventory SOX control and testing.
  • Pricing update in AX and SOX pricing control management
  • Responsible for completion of inventory related Corporate reporting as set by deadline
  • Key Responsibilities and Duties

Corporate Reporting

  • Completion and transmission of the monthly, quarterly and year end PPV Variance reporting requirements as determined by Corporate by the designated deadlines including schedule O.

General Ledger

  • Responsibility for the integrity of the inventory master data and inventory transaction accuracy;
  • Responsibility for GPH codes integrity;
  • Responsibility for inventory financial dimension maintenance;
  • Show room stock report to ensure inventory is less than 12 months;
  • Customer consignment stock and demo stock reporting
  • Return to suppliers stock reconciliation
  • DS Core transaction reconciliation
  • Supervision on intercompany transactions and reconciliation

Month End

  • Reconciliation of inventory and related accounts, including investigation of any issues arising from those reconciliations (PPV, GRNI, etc);
  • E&O calculation;
  • Complaints and Supplier returns;
  • Demo and Consignment inventory reconciliation;
  • Showroom stock provision and fixed asset transfer assessment;
  • SureSmile and DS Core Revenue Recognition journals
  • Completion of the miscellaneous Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, including provision of documentary support for reconciling items, investigation and clearance of issues on a timely basis

Inventory, Sales, Cost of Sales

  • Ensure that suitable accounting processes are in place to enable accurate and timely valuation of Inventory including reconciliation/review of all inventory & related accounts;
  • Annual standard costing calculation and upload to AX system by 1st January and ensure the accuracy of stock revaluation;
  • Maintain inventory purchase price
  • New inventory form data completion for standard costing and purchase prices;
  • Management of inventory adjustment account analysis;
  • Ensure compliance with CFAM requirements with respect to inventory & related accounts
  • Ensure accurate accounting for sales, cost of sales & other cost of sales
  • Calculation of E&O provision in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Review and reconcile the accounting for Purchase Price Variances (PPV) and ensure the timely investigation of any issues
  • Responsibility for the integrity of the inventory & cost master with respect to issues which affect accounting and business analysis functions
  • Maintenance of accuracy of Inventory GPH code within AX system
  • Maintain inventory items financial dimensions in AX system
  • Maintain and review items with no GPH codes

Master Pricing Update and Management

  • Update master prices or trade agreement as per appropriate approval;
  • Quarterly SOX testing on master prices changes.

Statutory Accounts

  • Assist in the preparation of the Australian and New Zealand statutory accounts as required by Accounting Controller in related with inventory accounts;

SOX Testing

  • Assist in SOX documentation and testing in related with inventory as required;

Ad hoc Tasks

  • Coordinate and prioritise the completion of local and corporate ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Involvement in all ad hoc projects as needed

Process Efficiency

  • Participate in new projects designed to grow the business and / or improve the efficiency or profitability of the existing business
