Responsibilities:
Reporting to the head of finance, the management accountant is responsible for providing financial insights, analysis and decision-support to key stakeholders and departments within the organisation.
The role requires close collaboration with the business to drive business performance, optimise resource allocation, and achieve strategic objectives.
- Complete and file BAS, IAS and other ATO requirements as needed
- Implement improved reporting, dashboards and modelling techniques including managing the evolution of these to ensure continuing business fit, efficiency and value
- Drive the month end process to ensure that information is accurate and timely.
- Compare actuals to budget at a centre level on a monthly basis
- Assist in the annual budget process
- Month end procedures including reconciling accounts, processing accruals and reporting.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to Accounts Payable / Assistant Accountant and to other finance team members.
- Liaise with various stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings and process improvements across the organisation
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and business cases to evaluate investment opportunities and resource allocation
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory reporting requirements as required
- Supporting the development of long-term organizational strategy and business plans, and provide recommendations and analysis to maximise business returns (ROCE)
