Your Opportunity

As the Manager, Accounts Reveivable and Banking, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the Accounts Receivable and Banking teams, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective accounts receivable and banking processes including but not limited to invoicing, receipting, collections, management of overdue accounts, bank reconcilations and associated reporting.
  • Provide expert analysis and advice on current and future needs in relation to accounts receivable and banking financial policy, systems and services.

This position reports to the Director, Financial Services.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Accounts Receivable and Banking teams, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective accounts receivable and banking processes, including but not limited to invoicing, receipting, collections, management of overdue accounts, bank reconciliations, reporting and management of banking, payment solutions and related arrangements, while modelling agreed team behaviours.
  • Coach and manage team members to develop their skills and oversee their workload including: - providing clarity around roles, expectations and responsibilities,- engaging in performance discussions, identify training and development opportunities,- using on the job opportunities to transfer knowledge and develop capability,- providing continuous feedback,- research and recommend training opportunities to improve and enhance the team skill set,- review personal and team performance and seek feedback from line management and stakeholders to confirm satisfaction.
  • Support the team in the delivery of outcomes, including supporting resource management, priority management, and identification and notification of any risks or issues to achieving outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to team members and senior management in relation to the management of overdue accounts, including dispute resolution.
  • Develop, implement and review business processes that maximise collections and improve the overall operational efficiency of the team and broader business.
  • Drive the development and improvement of internal policy, procedures, reporting and associated controls framework in relation to accounts receivable and banking functions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business in order to deliver a best practice solution in respect to accounts receivable and banking issues and opportunities.
  • Provide expert analysis and advice on current and future needs to senior management about accounts receivable and banking financial policy, systems and services.
  • Proactively identify and manage issues and risks, including timely escalation and provision of advice to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with relevant third party providers, including debt collection agencies.
  • Contribute to development of the CFO and TAFE Queensland operational and strategic plan and develop and implement team plans that identify annual priorities aligned to CFO and TAFE Queensland plans.
  • Liaise with applicable system and IT teams to develop system enhancements and digital solutions to improve processing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain effective relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage needs and expectations, mitigate risks and complex issues, and support change.
  • Contribute to and participate in portfolio and team initiatives and programs.

  • Proven strong analytical and financial management skills with the ability to collate and critically analyse, identify issues, assess options, negoiate outcomes and prepare recommendations and reports rapidly and accurately

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of five years experience in accounts receiveable and debt collections, including managerial experience.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • A diploma or degree qualification in business, accounting, finance, or progress towards this qualification will be well regarded however it is not essential.
