Description:
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government established under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014. In collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and partner agencies, the QCAA plays a critical role in the design and delivery of education in Queensland.
The QCAA is responsible for kindergarten guideline and senior secondary syllabus development, and for providing resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs from kindergarten to Year 12. It also provides testing, assessment, moderation, certification, and vocational education and training services to Queensland’s education community.
The Application Services Unit is part of the QCAA’s Assessment, Reporting and ICT Systems Division. The Application Services Unit is responsible for application development and support, web support and customer support.
Main responsibilities

Responsibilities:
- Advise and support the Director, ICT Branch on major information technologies and information management policies and issues.
- Contribute to developing a strategic vision and direction for information management in the area of business systems, application development and maintenance.
- Manage and lead the development, maintenance and operation of business applications and systems including the delivery of major projects, corporate applications and applications architecture.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining enterprise architecture, specifically the applications architecture.
- Liaise with project stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of application requirements.
- Analyse and document business requirements and prepare high-level business designs/outlines.
- Ensure that services and projects relating to applications development are delivered to clients’ satisfaction on time and within budget.
- Provide leadership and direction to Application Services staff and project teams regarding information management policies and issues, including risk management, client focus and QA certification.
