The Digital Readiness Office in NLB steers public education programmes and initiatives from the library, to prepare Singaporeans to be future-ready in a Smart Nation. The team tackles evolving topics across Artificial Intelligence, information literacy, life hacks with tech, hobbies, and digital fabrication with machines like 3D printers.
We are looking for someone with a creative mind and an interest in emerging innovation to join us in developing strategies and ideas to inspire engagement and learning in tech topics for the public.

[What you will be working on]

  • Support the team in the conceptualization, development and actualisation of attractive and exciting showcases, content and programmes, that will inspire and motivate the public in learning about evolving technology.
  • Flex your creative muscles and contribute to the design of strategic messages, hooks and visuals to engage the public with that head-turning wow factor.
  • Ensure that the experiential and visual designs result in enjoyable and memorable experiences for viewers, visitors and participants.
  • Work with the team to apply design thinking practices to engineer the measuring of success in the participant responses, and study the results to arrive at ways to improve the next iterations.
  • Collaborate with the team to inject excitement across a wide variety of activations, from showcases and campaigns, to digital content, to physical workshops,.
  • Explore creative ways to let technology resonate with the common person, in areas as diverse as AI and innovation, life hacks, work software, and digital fabrication forms like 3D printing.
  • Collaborate with NLB teams as well as external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficacy in the rollout of NLB’s initiatives in digital readiness.

[What we are looking for]

  • At least one year of relevant experience in UX, or Experience Design, or Visual Design, or Creative Campaigns.
  • Experience in designing creative strategies and conceptualisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English. Additional mother tongue languages will be a plus.
  • Familiarity and interest in digital making and/or emerging tech topics.

Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year project contract. We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Work location will be at various public libraries, depending on project requirements.
