We are now looking for a proactive, dynamic and results driven Manager Business Control (m/f/d) located at Kymi Mill (Kouvola) and Kaukas Mill (Lappeenranta), Finland.

“Our Kymi and Kaukas sites are combining a broad variety of products, processes and assets. You will become part of a motivated and very professional team and give our local organization an eye-level contribution and a face of Finance. At the same time you will be the link to our Finance service HUB in Wroclaw and our head office team in Helsinki. We will support you with a thorough on-boarding process where you will work together with the current position holder and colleagues from other mill locations in and outside Finland and also get a deep insight in our sites from various perspectives. What you will do

  • Drive the business as member of the Kymi and Kaukas Mill Management Team with an entrepreneur thinking rather than an administrator
  • Participate in strategy work, target setting and UPM Cross-Divisional Business Control activities
  • Follow-up the financial results of the strategy implementation and target setting
  • Deliver performance analyses & benchmarking
  • Proactively monitor and be active in cost and profitability development
  • Participate and later lead commercial projects, also contribute to business planning, investments and organizational development
  • Lead mill’s forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Create transparency and identify improvement potentials
  • Act as link between Business organization and Financial Shared Service organization, close collaboration within Financial Key Persons Network and support business processes

Who you are

  • You have degree in finance or a comparable education with relevant work experience in Finance or Controlling of over 4 years at a minimum
  • You are familiar with Management accounting IFRS basic accounting standards
  • You have good analytical skills and the ability to understand and conceptualize complex processes and data flows
  • You bring with you the ability and drive to understand non-financial contexts, basic commercial, legal and technical related matters
  • You have strong collaboration and team working skills with flexible, positive, and proactive attitude towards changing and global work environment
  • You have very good IT skills. In addition to normal MS Office tools, experience of SAP and visualization tools such as PowerBI (creator skills not necessary) are considered an asset
  • You are fluent in English and Finnish
