DaVita’s IKC (Integrated Kidney Care) Product team is a high-energy, entrepreneurial minded group committed to transforming the future of healthcare delivery. We are currently seeking a motivated Product BI (Business Intelligence) manager to join our team. Working with the Product Director, this manager will have the unique opportunity to design and implement programs that impact high priority initiatives, drive clinical and operational excellence, and create a differentiated quality of life for our dialysis patients. This position offers visibility with senior leadership and a long runway for professional growth and development.
The Product Business Intelligence Manager leads a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, to define and build key metrics for technical and non-technical business units. Provide vision, direction, and day-to-day management for the team. Lead development and implementation of scalable, data-driven solutions for widely ranging stakeholders such as Product Development, Technical Engineering, Deployment and Finance. Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities. Manage challenges associated with investigating and understanding large data sets and build predictive models based on the data. Work with product managers and engineering teams to define and prioritize data science and analytics projects. Partner with the leadership team to identify high-impact opportunities that leverage extensive data to better serve customers. Facilitate numerous data-driven efforts to customize the product suite. Help identify quality sources of data and emerging tools, vendors, and systems in order to improve existing architecture and processes. Establish a repeatable process and structure to scale the business. Provide data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Plan, manage and control the activities of a team or teams of analysts that provide business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. Lead initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Uses quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external data sources to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies.
  • Presents insights to other levels of leadership and provides recommendations for future modes of action.
  • Represent BI in the Physician Experience PI planning process and collaborates with teams to design business intelligence solutions
  • Help resolve data issues impacting users, as well as assisting the team to resolve technical challenges
  • Assist in managing customer expectations to ensure strong customer satisfaction and the delivery of services.
  • Manage and mentor BI analysts
  • Understand the business’s clinical and operational needs. Maintain a strong knowledge of these needs through visits and communications with DaVita offices.
  • Conduct administrative duties for immediate staff, i.e. time approval, performance reviews, expense reports, etc.
  • Use, protect, and disclose DaVita patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

(EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO FULFILL THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES, INCLUDE COMPUTER SKILLS AS REQUIRED):

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis and project management.
  • Experience in healthcare industry or IT-related fields a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Tableau skills required.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus.
  • Experience with SQL required, CCL a plus.
  • Experience writing performing statistical analysis (e.g. in R, SPSS, or Stata).
  • Experience analyzing complex business problems and synthesizing large data sets to yield actionable recommendations.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and a demonstrated ability to comprehend complex technical systems and/or processes.
  • Must possess a high level of self-initiative, drive and motivation, along with organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to operate with and without significant amounts of direction.
