Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Senior Technical Specialist who will coordinate services related to supporting and operating mission critical Information Systems and Technologies mainly for our client’s facility in Kitimat. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team whose main objective is to ensure the stability of operations, helping the enterprise achieve its productivity objectives. The role will encompass direct contact and collaboration with local and/or remote service owners and experts, third party stakeholders and internal functions of their operations such as Automation, Engineering, Procurement and others. Specific duties will include:

  • Prioritize the health and safety of the client’s employees and contractors and ensure that the IS&T contributes to minimizing the impact on the environment
  • Ensure that the local team members and contractors perform detailed HSE risk analysis related to their tasks
  • Review and maintain the business risk register for IS&T manufacturing

systems ensuring adequate governance and adequate mitigation measures are put in place and followed

  • Partner with internal customers, stakeholders and IS&T service providers

on a regular basis to evaluate the performance of the services. Maintain and negotiate Service Level Agreements

  • Represent the business and its priorities in the matter of service incidents

and problems, risks identification, recommendations, and solution implementation.

  • Follow-up with the service providers on the performance of preventive

maintenance tasks and system health checks

  • Create and maintain operations action plan focusing on problem resolution, specifically when need arises to coordinate problem involving multiple services
  • Understand the IS&T cost model and provide advice and coaching on IS&T costs control. Drive operational cost improvement initiatives
  • Based on the risk level, work with the Demand Management Specialist on structuring projects that prioritize investment in the mission critical systems upgrade
  • Work with project managers to prepare system and application operations model and handover plans
  • Act in the role of IS&T Business Partner during their absence

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • B.Sc. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Information Systems Operations and Support
  • Demonstrated influence leadership qualities, self-motivated and
