JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of the Regional Cardiac Care Program, the Manager of Business/Quality is responsible integrating and interpreting financial and clinical information to enable effective, efficient business management while also managing their own clinical portfolio as leadership dyad to the Medical Director, Cardiac Diagnostics. The manager works with program leadership and other key support services to formulate strategic action plans to address resource and operational challenges.
Through leadership of the Cardiac Data Team, the manager ensures program-level monitoring of quality metrics to inform changes in practice that impact clinical, financial or operational outcomes. Using in-depth knowledge of HBAM and QBPs the manager supports the sustainability of the program by establishing an integrated business model and making recommendations that will enhance financial performance of operations.
This position presents an enriching opportunity for professional development, encompassing a clinical portfolio with operational responsibilities overseeing the cardiac diagnostics department. Accountabilities include operational planning, staff engagement, budget and resource management.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Health Administration, or equivalent

  • Three (3) to four (4) years related financial experience at a manager level is preferred.
  • Project Management experience and PMP certification preferred

Experience in healthcare is preferred and considered an asset

  • Detailed knowledge of hospital sector funding methodologies, i.e. HBAM, QBP’s is preferred
  • Experience developing and managing procurement process (RFP, RFQ) and executing contracts
  • Previous experience with activity based costing systems considered an asset
  • Demonstrates exceptional planning and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, communication, diplomacy, coaching, facilitation and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the planning and implementation of services to accomplish annual goals and objectives consistent with the vision of Southlake Regional Health Centre
  • Further develop and refine the Cardiac Program budget solution framework and financial principles
  • Provide financial support to program teams focused on budget and operational improvements
  • Develops and implements recovery strategies to achieve budget where required
  • Identify and support revenue generating opportunities for the program
  • Assist Program leadership with preparation of their annual operating budget
  • Development of business cases, capital equipment plans, and procurement plans
  • Ensures the development of processes and optimizes performance for data collection to CorHealth
  • Interacts with managers/staff to develop improvement plans
  • Chair of the Cardiac Diagnostic Clinical Service Team and Cardiac Finance Committee
  • Lead their Clinical Services Team and oversee operation of a diagnostic and ambulatory clinical department
  • Inspire teams to work collaboratively toward common goals to provide excellent service
  • Manager personnel, hiring, budgets, and contracts for their respective clinical areas
  • Works closely with procurement and vendors to negotiate and manage contracts
