JOB DESCRIPTION

As Manager, Canada Segment Expenses and trusted advisor to the business, you will have an opportunity to use your strong background in planning reporting and analysis, and knowledge of the Canadian business, to support the strategic management of all Canadian Segment expenses across all Functions and BUs.
The position supports directly the AVP, Head of Canada Segment Expenses and this role is the central point of contact for the Canadian Segment with expense policy setting, reporting, systems, and analysis. This role will closely work with the BU reporting managers/senior analysts.
The role will help in implementing the company-wide vision of global expenses with the objective of standardization, simplification, and enhanced automation of various processes to deliver better expense management practices. The role is also accountable for delivering accurate and comprehensive financial data and reports on expenses/expense performance, maintaining expense policy and accounting systems, as well as building and maintaining a strong internal control environment to support risk management and the attainment of business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Support the BU reporting managers/senior analysts in preparing monthly and quarterly expense reports to BU stakeholders according to the Expense Shared Service Center (ESSC) service model as well as overseeing the completion and communication of additional analysis. Lead the aggregation of BU results and assist in preparing and presenting regular expense updates to Senior Management (Canadian Segment CEO and CFO, GMs and Canadian Functional Heads). Identify improvements required in financial reporting to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Annual Expense Plan/Budget: Lead the coordination and preparation of annual expense plan/budget exercises for inclusion in the annual planning process. This includes working with the BU reporting managers/senior analysts, Expense functional peers, direct functional work area managers, Planning Teams and CFO representatives to establish a transparent and efficient process.
  • Expense Transformation: Support the development and implementation of the Global Expense transformation ensuring service levels to customers are maintained and the integrity of financial information is assured.
