HSBC Commercial Banking in the UAE provides both domestic and international commercial banking services to our existing and prospective clients. CMB’s domestic proposition aims to provide banking coverage to Commercial Banking (CMB) customers within the Large Corporate, Mid- Market Enterprise and Business Banking segments. The CMB strategy is to provide consistent, in-depth, and dedicated coverage across the HSBC network with the end goal to deepen our relationship with our customers. The CMB Credit Governance & Project Management role assists CMB Leadership in maintaining Credit Governance in line with policies & guidelines. Credit Governance team ensure Continuous Monitoring of assigned controls in Helios.
The role of the CMB Credit Governance & Project Management is to support management with the control and governance of the department and banking customers, from everyday business KPI monitoring, business improvement projects and remediation.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree is mandatory
  • Broad understanding of wholesale banking, CMB proposition, financial services landscape.
  • Prior experience in functional/business management or frontline CMB, working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments.
  • Good understanding of Credit and Lending Products, Guidelines and Principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
  • Experience of planning and prioritizing their own time effectively and adhering to strict deadlines.
  • The ability to understand and interpret financial data
  • A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Undertake and oversee varying activities in relation to the diverse number of responsibilities governing the actions taken on by the Relationship Managers and Credit Managers
  • Act as trusted adviser and a key point of contact to front office colleagues to provide ongoing day to day support to enable them to meet internal controls.
  • Maintain robust and efficient control processes to ensure good operational, financial, project management together with early identification and effective resolution of issues that arise
  • Investigate and seek remedies for discrete issues which may be adversely affecting business unit performance or appropriately advise management in a timely manner of any material compliance and reputational matters
  • Manage embedding of policy and procedures across the function to ensure consistent application of Group Policy and adhere to regulatory, financial, and legal standards to minimize business and reputational risk in the front office
  • Prepare presentations and executive updates on business performance and attending forums and committees, supporting senior leaders in decision making to enable achievement of the defined business outcomes
  • Lead/support work streams and ensure strong collaboration across all intra-work stream and peripheral (wider CMB) activities ensuring strong networks with key stakeholders, enabling the function’s ability to execute at pace
  • Manage various Internal & External Audit and Control Testing.
