Armidale Regional Council is seeking a Manager of Design and Delivery to bring project management expertise, leadership and rigour to Council’s planning and delivery of projects. This is a dynamic leadership role that has a cross-organisational impact.
The Manager leads Council’s infrastructure investigation and design services team and is responsible for survey and design support for Council’s forward works program for the construction and maintenance of the Council’s civil assets. In addition, this role leads Council’s project management team, supporting the delivery of a variety of projects across Council’s operations.
With a strong focus on project delivery, this role requires someone who is well practiced at fostering a multi-discipline team to ensure high-quality and efficient results.
There are a range of major projects underway by Council including transport infrastructure reconstructions and rehabilitation works, drainage and bridge capital works, grant funded capital works, recreational area upgrades, sale yard upgrades, and renewals projects. Having been approved for a special rate variation, Council will have no shortage of projects to deliver in the foreseeable future. The Manager Design and Delivery has a pivotal role coordinating and supporting the delivery of these projects. Therefore, an understanding of project management frameworks and the ability to implement and operate Asset Management and Project Management software will be critical to the success of this role.
