Some of what you will do:
Staples Canada is seeking an experienced eCommerce Analytics professional to lead the digital analytics practice as part of the Enterprise Analytics & Data Science team. Our multi-tenant cloud platforms power our analytics and ML/AI capabilities and we’re looking for an active, hands-on contributor to play a central role in helping our teams understand the performance and impact of their strategies. Additionally, this role will be continuously challenged to bring forward valuable insights to help their business partners make better and more informed decisions.
The successful candidate will be a key enabler in accelerating our digital analytics practice. They will have direct ownership of digital analytics, insights, and reporting for our Staples Canada eCommerce properties. This role will partner closely with Digital Product Management, Site Operations, UX, and other teams across Staples Digital to build deep insights across the customer journey.
This position represents an ideal role for a motivated and highly analytical individual. The successful candidate will be passionate about data and have a strong foundation in analytics, understanding business needs, and storytelling.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing the digital analytics roadmap and delivering reporting & impactful insights to business partners across Digital Product, Site Operations, UX, and other Staples Digital teams.
  • Building and executing measurement and reporting plans for digital product initiatives, driving a clear understanding of the business value driven by digital customer experience enhancements.
  • Leading scheduled and ad-hoc deep dives to drive a comprehensive understanding of the customer experience on Staples Canada digital properties and highlight actionable insights.
  • Enabling self-serve analytics and reporting amongst your business partners, leveraging initiatives such at Q&A channels and office hours for our core reporting tools.
  • Partnering with our Analytics Engineering and Enablement team to curate and source behavioral/ transactional/operational data into views that can easily be leveraged and trusted for decision making, connecting back to our customer, their journeys and business priorities.
  • Driving enhancement of our reporting tools with a self-serve enablement focus, to define business impact and project success, while also providing insights to evaluate both short-term and long-term ROI.
  • Motivating, mentoring, and ensuring your direct team has the right tools, processes, and agile principles in place to deliver reporting & insights that are on time and support the goals of your business partners.

Some of what you need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or any other quantitative discipline.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to understand complex datasets and transform them into actionable business insights.
  • Proven ability to collaborate broadly with a flexible, positive attitude and an ability to drive results.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to senior executives and identify the strategic opportunities behind analyses from you and your team.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and being open and eager to use new tools; experience with Looker, Power BI, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Proven experience with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 or Adobe Analytics.
  • Expert SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
  • Understanding of the Google Cloud Platform or other cloud-based data platforms.
  • 3-5 years in a highly analytical, results-driven environment.
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital or eCommerce analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience working with digital product management teams.
