Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE AT BAXTER:

In this role, you will be responsible for the Canadian Depot and Field Service Team. This is a stand-alone (hands-on) position that will take technical EHS and policy direction from the Corporate EHS functional team. This position will be responsible for improving the plans, systems, and processes currently in place and focusing the facility and field teams on Environmental, Health, and Safety awareness and best practices. As well as provide Canada support initiatives such as regulatory requirements and reporting, BCP, and Health and Safety Committee leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Works with management and employees to create a culture that values safety prevention, awareness, healthy lifestyles, adherences to EH&S laws and regulations and protection of the environment. Proactively coordinates and identifies potential EHS hazards through risk assessments, Gemba walks, inspections, etc., and ensures timely corrective actions are implemented when hazards are identified.
  • Organizes, leads, and administers various employee programs such as safety and ESD shoes, safety glasses, blood drives, recognition events, etc.
  • Owns and maintains EHS policies and procedures in the Quality Management System.
  • Regularly reviews processes in the Canadian Depots and the Field to help insure EHS principles are being followed by operating management and employees.
  • Works with Canadian Field Regional Managers to prevent accidents with the mobile field workforce.
  • Collects data and makes updates to the Corporate EHS data base Gensuite Benchmark as required.
  • Primary contact for Canadian regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, and reporting.
  • Leads all workplace injury investigations and works with leadership to implement related corrective actions.
  • Manages restricted duty and return to work requirements in compliance with Canadian Workers Compensation.
  • Adheres to all environmental, health, and safety requirements including any department specific requirements
