Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Manager of Electronics Engineering is responsible for leading the Danish Electronics R&D Engineering department of HARMAN Lighting R&D, which is tasked with the Electronics development for new technologies, platforms, products, product enhancements and product redesign of HARMANS lighting products in close corporation and synchronization with the China based Electronics development team and the global Optical, Mechanical, Firmware, Systems and Test & Validation teams. Moreover, the position includes responsibility for quality assurance and product qualification during product development from the Electronics side.
The Manager will assume responsibility for a department consisting of a mix of engineers and technicians including our Electronics prototype laboratories in Denmark. Whereas our Electronics teams are located both in Denmark and in Shenzhen, China, this Manager is responsible for the Danish team only. The Manager is directly responsible for the Danish team setup, people development and the project task and resource alignment in close corporation with the Manager of the China based Electronics development team, to define which teams run which activities.
In this role, you are expected to act as a role model for good global collaboration and to have a focus on continuous improvement to drive and promote improvement in working processes. You will ensure that the team can develop innovative technologies whilst delivering projects within specification on time. The Manager will assume responsibilities of the continued development of the department Systems and Tools across the different Engineering departments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Management of the Danish Electronics development teams including resource management and employee development.
  • Timely execution of all Electronics solutions assigned to the Danish team in all roadmap projects, both technology, platform and NPI.
  • Challenge the design solutions to ensure right electronics design solutions is chosen by the project team.
  • Setup right processes to ensure high quality deliveries by the electronics development team.
  • Lead electrical laboratories development and maintenance.
  • Lead innovation, technology and platform development of electronics systems used in lighting products.
  • Alignment and standardization of tools and processes needed for smooth integration of all technologies and platforms into NPI projects – for the global team and in alignment with other functional areas; Optical, Electrical and Firmware Department and Systems Engineering and T&V Department
  • Budget responsibility and follow up.
  • Cross departmental systems and tool development.
  • Selection of correct design concepts used for new products or improvement for existing concepts.
  • Development of product variants, based on known products.
  • Ensuring that product quality issues reported from the marked or production sites are solved together with the Engineering Sustaining organization.
  • Support sustainability tasks to keep production running smoothly of released products and to support customer demands.
