We are looking for an Engineering IT Manager to join our team and lead various projects across several teams to help create processes and execute strategies to ensure projects are developed in a timely manner. Enterprise IT Engineering Manager responsibilities include researching and developing new business enablement technology, building, and owning new products, planning projects / budgets, and overseeing the successful execution of the organization’s strategic imperatives and goals throughout the year. Ultimately, you will work closely with different teams, functions, business leaders, to ensure projects and initiatives are completed according to schedule, scope and budget.
An IT Engineering Manager is responsible for developing the overall concepts of new products, capabilities and/or solving problems that may prevent their completion or adoption. They direct, plan accordingly, and spend time inspiring employees in different functions throughout the project lifecycle. The IT Engineering leader will have many responsibilities, but they primarily focus on establishing execution agreements with the engineering, sponsors, business leaders, and technical personnel, overseeing the logistics, return-on-investment, and delivering results.
An IT Engineering Leader must have excellent communication skills since they need to deliver strategic direction to different functions, based on their role in a project’s development and product ownership. They must also be organized, as they lead, inspire people, processes, technology, across multiple disciplines within the Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products have the support of upper management
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering team
  • Lead research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.
  • Check their team’s work for technical accuracy
  • Analyze, propose, and manage budgets, technologies, and resources for projects
  • Plan strategies for the development of designs and products on schedule and on budget
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Prioritize, delegate, and supervise all engineers’ activities and deliverables
  • Manage, support, and evaluate engineers’ performance metrics
  • Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities and find ways to improve collaboration and communication for a strong team culture
  • Determine the need for contractors, source, and lead projects with contractors through
  • Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions, when needed
  • Build the entire technical documentation and project roadmaps for engineering to support
  • Responding to emails and threads in your communication channels,
  • Reading up on best practices and preparing technical documentation,
  • Documenting and improving processes at work, reviewing staff and leader feedback
  • Strategizing and brainstorming opportunities for career development, mentoring and training for your people
  • Develops, implements, documents, and supports best practice processes and frameworks
  • Preparing reports and writing performance reviews
  • Confronts and solves performance/operation issues to improve development efficiency
  • Oversees a project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget
  • Evaluate new technologies
  • Remove impediments that might slow or block the team
  • Lead from the front – hands-on approach ensuring the success of the systems engineers and the IT department.
  • Understand and articulate the key technical and operational challenges faced by our staff and leaders.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues within the department
  • Support engineers in complex evaluations, troubleshooting and challenging situations
  • Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by director.
  • Monitor and manage the team to meet ticket resolution and quality metrics as defined
