Responsibilities:
THIS ROLE IS CURRENTLY ONLY OPEN TO QUARK STAFF AT THIS TIME.
As the Interim Manager of Expedition Team Scheduling, you will primarily oversee and drive the scheduling process for the Expedition Team. The Expedition Team is a diverse and multi-faceted group of contractors who work in the field on our vessels as guides, presenters, educators, guest service representatives, linguists, gift shop managers, expedition leaders, logistics managers, photography guides and more.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Professional communication with Expedition Team members regarding scheduling
- Monitor and action in-season and future season role requirements and re-schedule as necessary
- Analyze operational needs and make appropriate and effective scheduling decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with Expedition Team members and other partners. This is supported by having a field presence if possible and when possible in gateways and onboard
- Lead the scheduling process through all phases (pre-schedule planning, active scheduling, in-season modifications)
- Demonstrate strong understanding of our mandatory certification requirements and other industry specific requirements
- Consider efficiencies and cost reductions throughout the scheduling process
- Review feedback from EoS reports, EL reports and maintain a good understanding on team members regarding performance in order to make appropriate scheduling choices
- Provide consultation for Language Program allocations
- Work closely with the Director of Expedition Team Staffing and the Leadership Council to plan EL Strategy and other key onboard leadership roles
- Identify and communicate recruitment needs and work closely with the Manager of Expedition Team Development to complete the recruitment process
