Description:

Great Southern Bank is seeking a new Manager, Market and Financial Risk to join the team on a permanent basis. In this role you will work closely with business stakeholders to actively lead the refinement and development of the risk management framework, identify emerging risks, continue to embed the Three Lines of Defence model and help champion and embed strong positive risk culture. This position open to candidates based in Brisbane CBD or Sydney the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently drive balance sheet analytics and insights which result in improved balance sheet management.
  • Lead, mentor, support and advise others across our business as they learn and grow in their roles across the Lines of Defence model.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the regulatory requirements, processes, systems, and models used to monitor and make decisions about our financial risks.
  • Identify and analyse key risk measures and provide an independent view of whether the business is in control including analysing the risk framework, process and model design to ensure it is fit for purpose and working as intended.
  • Develop, produce and/or contribute to regular and ad-hoc risk reporting as is required for regulators, boards, committees, executive management, and leadership teams.
  • Oversee risk events are accurately recorded, managed, monitored, escalated, and reported upon.
  • Prepare and produce risk insights that identify trends, patterns and concentration to interpret changes to the risk profile and high inherent risks that would have a material impact for Great Southern Bank.
  • Confidently challenge yourself, teammates and other colleagues in constructive ways that drive better outcomes.
