The Manager Fleet Safety contributes to the Network Aviation Safety Strategy and is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of key safety metrics relative to the Fleet operations, along with the development and delivery of fleet safety initiatives supporting our fleet of F100 and A320/A319 aircraft.
This position is a leading role in the Flight Operations Quality Assurance area, including FDAP, safety reporting, analysis, investigations, and benchmarking. You will raise safety awareness and evaluate existing safety mitigations and have responsibility for the delivery of safety based operational outcomes.
You will also maintain line currency as a pilot, and conduct line flying operations as required.
You’ll have –
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a critical safety role, with a focus on the delivery of safety strategies and Safety Performance Indicators
- Tertiary qualification in aviation safety, flight operations or auditing
- Experience within aviation, preferably with F100 and A320 aircraft types
- Currently hold or have held an ATPL
- Strong operational experience in airline operations
- Experience in the conduct of investigations/interviews
- Understanding of FDAP/FOQA principles
- Understanding of Safety Management Systems
- Demonstrated ability to quickly identify key opportunities and issues, and develop and implement best practice strategies for resolution
- Ability to build effective relationships and be influential with all stakeholders
- Innovative, collaborative and responsive style with ability to influence positive outcomes at a senior level
- Ability to analyse, problem solve and facilitate outcomes using data
- Strong communication skills and high level of attention to detail in written communication
