Description:

Overview:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, academics, quality assurance, and student life within the institution. You will play a critical role in ensuring the success and growth of the organization while fostering a positive and conducive environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and teamwork among employees.
  • Mentor and develop leadership skills within the team, providing guidance and constructive feedback to nurture professional growth and performance improvement.

Crisis and Conflict Management

  • Demonstrate resilience and composure during challenging situations, effectively managing crisis scenarios and conflicts within the organization.
  • Implement appropriate communication strategies to mitigate reputational risks and maintain stakeholder trust during challenging times.

Operations

  • Resource Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring strict compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with various departments to streamline processes, allocate resources, and drive enhanced organizational performance.
  • Key Growth Initiatives: Play a pivotal role in advancing Robertson Global Alberta by providing leadership and guidance to the Alberta Global Team in shaping and promoting international plans.
  • Public-Private Partnership: Act as the primary liaison for the Private-Public Partnership with Red Deer Polytechnic, ensuring the successful establishment of international presence.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement business plans aligned with the Company’s strategic goals, balancing the diverse needs of key stakeholders while supporting the College’s vision and academic plan.
  • Process Alignment: Collaborate closely with department leaders to align processes and practices, ensuring they support the mandated expansion of quality international activities.
  • Policy and Procedure Oversight: Ensure the development and systematic review of policies and procedures for Robertson Global, working closely with leaders to ensure internal processes support the expansion of quality international activities.
  • Budget Management: Take charge of planning, preparing, and monitoring the campus budget in line with overall objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Risk Management: Provide leadership in the risk management area related to international activities, addressing financial, reputational, and security risks to protect the College, its Board, faculty, staff, and students.

Academic Oversight

Lead academic teams and provide strategic direction to enhance the quality and relevance of academic programs.

  • Ongoing collaboration with Teaching and Learning to ensure high academic standards and continuously improve curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, research, and academic excellence throughout the institution.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance processes to uphold academic standards and compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of academic programs and services to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and accreditation standards, addressing any deficiencies to maintain high-quality education.

Student Life and Engagement

  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive student life program that enhances the overall student experience.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to create a vibrant campus culture and support services that cater to students’ diverse needs and aspirations.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student involvement, growth, and community engagement.
  • Ensures that, in accordance with Government directives and College policy, all international education activities meet revenue and profit goals to meet the Company’s annual financial performance metrics.
  • Provides direction and leadership in operational areas such as operating structures, policies, procedures, and communications systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent direct work experience in the area(s) of international and/or language program preferred
  • Specialized training and qualifications in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) is considered an asset.
  • Leadership experience in an educational setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international education, business development and educational marketing
  • Experience in program research, design and evaluation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (with the ability to provide advice and develop and present informational materials)
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and conflict-resolution skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of situations
  • Strong leadership, team-building and relationship-building skills
  • Strong conceptual and strategic planning and marketing skills
  • Ability to influence long-term planning and program development within the college and the community
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in managing risks and opportunity taking situations
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues of immigrants, newcomers and international students
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
