YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with five to eight years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- At least 1 year of direct leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a group of employees.
- Bilingualism (French and English) required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Inspirational leadership skills and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to communicate with various hierarchical levels in the business unit.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional Manager of Global Hardware Engineering in our aviation team. The individual will oversee the design, customization, and development of cost-effective and innovation hardware solutions aligned with CAE’s strategic plan and our clients’ requirements. This role will lead a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of designers responsible for our products solutions including FTDs, C130s and more. The manager will guide the team into making strategic decisions and schedules that are both ambitious and achievable and work in collaboration with our diverse and inclusive team of leaders and employees.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team (~25 employees) of electrical and mechanical designers.
- Support direct reports in meeting on-time deliveries while respecting scope, budget, schedules, and quality requirements.
- Works closely with the Tampa hardware engineering management team to continually ensure top quality C130 deliveries to our sister site.
- Works closely with the product management team to continually ensure that our FTD should costs and schedules are met.
- Foster a positive work culture and cultivate a high-performance work environment where training, communication and collaboration play a primary role.
- Set employee & team objectives, evaluate employee performance, and work with the technical assessor to grow and develop direct reports.
- Monitor and communicate the status of projects during management governances.
- Responsible to identify hiring needs to ensure proper team capacity and capability to meet the business units demand plans.
- Works collaboratively with their peers in improving results, services, and boosting departmental efficiency.
- Participate in and lead special projects & committees.
