With a multiple stakeholder focus, the global mobility function oversees and quarterbacks the movement of new hires and employees across geographies ensuring our new and current talent experience the highest level of end-to-end care as they take their careers to new heights. Reporting to Senior Manager, Talent & Employee Experience, the Manager, Global Mobility, is responsible for continuing to build and execute Nutrien’s global mobility strategic vision ensuring alignment to business need, market competitiveness and always keeping the employee experience top of mind. The primary focus is to enhance the overall employee experience throughout the mobility process, ensuring adherence to Nutrien’s policies, immigration, and tax regulations.
At Nutrien, the global mobility team is a key partner and enabler of strategic management of talent. As such, transforming our program and practice from delivery to advisory and becoming a more strategic partner that is aligned to business needs and HR programs is imperative. As the talent needs of Nutrien continue to evolve, our global mobility program must evolve to serve the needs of our stakeholders in HR and the business while maintaining program integrity and compliance.

SKILLS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of global mobility, immigration, and tax as it relates to Nutrien’s global mobility programs and practices
  • Experience in global mobility transformation, global mobility metrics and data
  • Experience managing and driving positive, collaborative, and constructive relationships
  • Experience working in-house with global mobility is preferable
  • Strong global tax, immigration and relocation experience and knowledge for liaising with global mobility vendors
  • Demonstrated willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and work in support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent coaching, conflict resolution and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence
  • Strong leadership – demonstrated ability to lead team members in ambiguous situations and commitment to support and develop a team
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced, creative, dynamic environment
  • Experience in independently establishing networks relevant to scope of role; able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Organizational skills that enable performance and accountability for assigned responsibilities; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and professionalism and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to independently identify and evaluate decision-making criteria and exercise sound judgement in the application of same criteria, within scope of role
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proficiency with SAP and Oracle ERP systems preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (Business, Accounting)
  • Accounting designation preferred (CPA)
  • Background in compensation/accounting highly beneficial
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience, as well as progressive management and leadership skills developed over 5+ years
  • Minimum 5 years of global mobility experience with a global organization or reputable Tax Consulting Firm (specializing in Global Mobility Tax) supporting global organizations
  • Experience managing domestic, cross-border and international relocations, complex immigration work and all assignment types (short term, long term, commuter, expatriate)
  • Understanding of complex payroll withholding requirements and taxability
  • A high degree of judgment and discretion, adaptability, strong problem-solving skills
  • Global mobility certification preferred (Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) Certification; Canadian Global Mobility Professional (CGMP) Certification; Global Mobility Specialist, Talent Management (GMS-T) Certification)
