Description:

The Project Manager, Printing and Packaging reports to the Global Marketing Director, Packaging and oversees the Michelman Stage-Gate process from concept to delivery, coordinating the various internal and external contributors. Focus will be on complex projects delivering new products. The ideal candidate is someone with Project Management experience focused on New Product Development and Innovation through a Stage-Gate process.

The position is responsible for daily project management of global Printing & Packaging projects related to new product launches, within a Portfolio Management framework. Specifically, this individual will manage new product launches from concept approval to manufacturing and launch with respect to day-to-day activities and management:

  • Manage projects and all cross functional interfaces, oversee the financial health of the project to ensure it meets target objectives and adheres to the Stage-Gate process
  • Identify risks and communicate these and compiling project updates and communications to project team and wider business
  • Ensure stakeholders generate information required for Portfolio Management process

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other technical field (Master’s degree preferred); PMP/PMI certified (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Experience managing high complexity projects involving new products and/or growth platforms

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer C2C Stage-Gate process, including the interface with Portfolio Management. Ensure accuracy and completeness of information throughout the process and that all deliverables are met at each stage.
  • Create project scope for complex projects. Clearly identify all resources required to support project objectives including team, materials, and facilities.
  • Develop the project budget and ROI/NPV model in collaboration with the Product Development Team and track and report progress throughout the project.
  • Conduct comprehensive project/product risk analysis with team, including changes to project deliverables and timing, and develop and implement the risk management plan.
  • Run project team meetings to drive completion of tasks, work through bottlenecks, assess risks and raise issues to management. Gather, validate, analyze and present results to project teams and senior leadership.
  • Create, and update timelines, develop risk management, status reporting and manage cross functional interfaces to ensure timings are met for all projects.
  • Monitor project and portfolio performance to ensure project is on target and deadlines are met as expected, raising concerns.
  • Ensure necessary reporting and cross-regional/channel leverage takes place, including periodic presentations to the P&P Platform Teams, and P&P Leadership Team.
  • Participation in early/late calls with all regions, as needed
