Position: Manager, GPS Data & Analytics Delivery Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The GPS Data & Analytics delivery lead role is accountable for delivery of identified projects and operations support of the Enterprise data lake. The role will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the of the data enablement projects and will also lead the production/operations team. Additional responsibilities include coaching and mentoring the technical team of developers in designing, building, managing, and operating the GPS – Enterprise data lake capabilities throughout the technology lifecycle in support of Global Product Development and Supply – Data and Analytics Enablement organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of experience in information technology field in developing AWS cloud native data lakes and ecosystems
  • Deeper understanding of cloud technologies preferably AWS and related services in delivering and supporting data and analytics solutions/data lakes 2-4 years of experience with operations and production support, and optimizing the supporting process
  • Demonstratable experience in managing projects & priorities and adept at navigating through delivery uncertainties
  • At least 3 years of experience in an onshore offshore delivery model and in managing the delivery & team expectations appropriately
  • Prior experience in global life sciences especially in the GPS functional area will be a plus
  • Priori experience in Cloud technologies – preferably AWS and related capabilities such as storage, compute, catalogue, data virtualization will be a huge plus
  • Experience working internationally with a globally dispersed team including diverse stakeholders and management of offshore technical development team(s)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Project Management (PMP) and / OR ITIL Service Management certification is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, Lead, and Mentor a team of data engineers, operations support, and testing resources to operate and develop data and analytics focused capabilities in support of the Global Product Development and Supply organization
  • Participate in the analysis, design, build, manage, and operate lifecycle of the enterprise data lake and analytics focused digital capabilities
  • Develop an understanding of the GPS data ecosystem across functional towers (Supply chain, Manufacturing, Product development, Quality, and Cell Therapy), and in the required tools & AWS technologies
  • Build awareness of the technology platform strategy and lead releases and make technical recommendations across the data ecosystem
  • Ability to develop in Python, AWS Redshift/S3/ RDS, Native AWS Services, Database design and familiarity with Domino/data lake principles
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders to understand requirements for enhancements or prototypes
  • Provide effort and cost estimations when required to scale prototypes
  • Partner with other data, platform, and cloud teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Architect and develop data solutions according to legal and company guidelines
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
