Job Summary
The role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing harassment and violence prevention and conflict management strategies aligned to business objectives and that promote an equitable and values driven workplace culture. It provides expertise in all matters relating to Human Rights complaints (harassment & violence, and discrimination) as well as conflict management, ensuring NAV CANADA remains compliant with best practices and employment law. Balancing time between proactive projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and oversee the harassment and violence notification process and ensure adherence to legislation.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure processes are on track
  • Review all investigation reports to ensure validity and compliance with regulatory requirements and review adequacy of recommendations.
  • Ensure the implementation of all investigation recommendations.
  • Develop and oversee projects and training related to the prevention of harassment and violence and develops communication plans
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders and review trends to assess requirements.
  • Conduct research and keep abreast of best practices.
  • Provide advisory services and coaching to HR Personnel, employees and managers on matters related to harassment, violence, discrimination, conflict, and non-medical accommodations to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Responsible for coaching and leading the Specialist.

What you bring:

Education:

  • Minimum qualification in a post-secondary education (College Diploma or University degree) with additional relevant training.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting investigations
  • 3 years experience conducting conflict resolution processes
  • At least 2 years experience leading & managing a team

Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of Harassment Investigation Process procedures
  • Solid knowledge of Conflict Resolution practices
  • Strong knowledge of Human Rights legislation
  • Strong knowledge of HR management policies and practices
