Job Description:
As the Operations Manager of Transactional Finance, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of financial operations within REPH supporting Business units of Risk and Elsevier. Your role will involve managing a team of finance professionals responsible for transactional processes within Accounts Payable. Your strategic leadership will play a pivotal role in optimizing our financial operations and supporting the company’s overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of transactional finance specialists, providing guidance, training, and ongoing performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve transactional finance processes, identifying opportunities for automation, streamlining, and cost efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
Financial Accuracy: Oversee the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, including invoice processing, payment processing, reconciliation, helpdesk, and revenue recognition. Monitor financial data for discrepancies and address issues promptly.
Compliance: Ensure that all financial operations adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Vendor and Client Relations: Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients. Collaborate on contract negotiations, terms, and agreements to optimize cost savings and terms.
Stakeholder Management: Foster good / collaborative relationship with the business unit stakeholders thru ensuring governance calls happens on a periodic cadence and that they are kept updated with the performance progress and issues monitored requiring their support.
Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, statements, and key performance metrics to senior management. Provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes. Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify opportunities for improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Procurement, different Finance Operations team, HR, IT and others, to ensure seamless financial transactions and provide financial support as needed to drive overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in transactional finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial software systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with a strong ability to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
