ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a progressive, Darwin and Perth-based electrical company, specialising in the design and construction of integrated switchgear and industrial switchboards with a client base extending across Australia. They have developed close relationships with their clients through their core values of excellence, integrity, and innovation. With a focus on quality and efficiency, our client is seeking a Workshop Manager to manage their workshop team in their Welshpool facility.
Responsibilities:
The Workshop Manager is a hands-on workshop-based role responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safe and efficient workshop activities. It is not an office-based administration role. As the Workshop Manager, you will:
- Supervise workshop staff and ensure efficient operations
- Meet delivery dates for all orders
- Manage staff performance including supervision of apprentices
- Conduct functional testing of completed boards and contribute to production meetings
- Monitor compliance with technical, quality & safety standards
- Establish and review procedures for the operation of the Workshop floor
- Assist with all technical requirements within the Workshop
- Ensure effective and efficient production methods are employed
- Monitor compliance with technical, quality & safety standards
- Initiate & develop continuous improvement processe
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Electrical fitter license with at least 5 years of commercial experience
- Experience as a Licenced Electrical Contractor (mining or industrial) - desirable
- Experience as a Supervisor with a strong technical background
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety, employee relations, and relevant legislation
- As sound knowledge and understanding of the relevant electrical and switchboard standards - AS 3000 & AS 6149.
- Excellent technical skills in project managing and building electrical switchboard
