The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to manage the In-Situ Measurement Group. This is a key leadership position within the Operational Technology and Engineering (OT&E) team, which forms part of the Observing Systems and Operations (OSO) Program. The role provides specialist advice and will lead the development and implementation of processes that will ensure systematic delivery of quality engineering and technical outcomes for the Bureau’s Automatic Weather Stations, Upper Air, Flood Warning and active remote sensing networks.
The Manager In-Situ Measurement Group will need to ensure all OTE stakeholder engagement and new works are conducted in accordance with the systems engineering and quality processes that have developed and deployed. This may include educating industry and stakeholders, including the Bureau science and engineering communities in systems engineering life cycle theory and its application in their area. Drawing on their experience and knowledge, the Manager In-Situ Measurement Group will be responsible for establishing systems and processes to support quality delivery of OSO platforms required to deliver Bureau services.
The position will work closely with the related teams in Infrastructure Delivery, Business & Transformation, and the National Observing Operations teams along with other business areas of the organisation, to develop and implement these capabilities.
