Job Summary
The Manager, Intermodal Development is responsible for evaluating, leading, and implementing infrastructure and technology projects as well as operational initiatives that position Intermodal to effectively deliver growth and improve its performance metrics. The role requires detailed knowledge of Intermodal operations as well as project management skills, analytical capability, creative thinking, and the ability to deliver results.

EXPERIENCE

Rail or Terminal Operations, Marketing or Business Analysis

  • Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in rail or terminal operations, marketing, or business analysis

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/DESIGNATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or Business

  • Strong knowledge of intermodal operations and economic analysis
  • Ability to gather and interpret data to identify opportunities and validate solutions

Responsibilities:

Project Development and Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of the project life cycle for asset, infrastructure, and technology-related projects and initiatives to improve Intermodal operations practices, efficiencies, and capacities (e.g. opportunity evaluation, cost and benefit analysis, funding justification, specification development, construction supervision, - contract management as well as expense management)
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders and build consensus to support effective project deliveries
  • Develop design proposals for Requests for Quotes (RFQs), preliminary design, and detailed - design plans, and assist with business case proposals to secure funding
  • Evaluate alternatives, RFQ submissions, develop tender specifications, and lead the project until complete
