Description:

INTERNAL REPORTING ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leads monthly and quarterly internal financing reporting function, which includes the timely completion of the Flash Report and the Monthly Financial Summary (MFS), both of which are distributed to the Executive Leadership Team;
  • Presents MFS to the Chief Financial Officer each month, focusing on key areas of Actual-Versus-Actual and Actual-Versus-Budget variances;
  • Develops strong relationships with Business Unit finance teams and leverages business knowledge to challenge business unit variance explanations to enhance the quality and relevance of the reporting documents;
  • Liaises with a number of internal partners, such as BU asset support teams, Business Development, Treasury, Tax, Risk, Corporate Planning, and Financial Reporting, to ensure that financial results are accurate and variances explainable;
  • Uses information from financial performance to predict impacts on current year forecasts;
  • Assists Investor Relations in crafting the appropriate messages for external audiences;
  • Consistently looks for and implements continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Responsible for the oversight of timely and accurate normalization entries (prepared and reviewed by members of team);
  • Responsible for the oversight of timely and accurate Government surveys including Bureau of Economic Analysis, US Census Bureau, and Statistics Canada; and
  • Maintains and motivates an effective team of highly proficient professionals, providing them with opportunities to further develop their skills and talents.

CORPORATE ACCOUNTING ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversight of the general ledger monthly close for corporate entities;
  • Oversight and management of the account reconciliations prepared by the Corporate Accounting team;
  • Support central function stakeholders;
  • Review results and understand and provide drivers of results to management;
  • Ownership of accounting for central function allocations;
  • Expert team for intercompany transactions;
  • Accounting for Enbridge’s complex long-term incentive plans which include equity and cash awards;
  • Sophisticated areas such as enterprise treasury & risk accounting primarily related to Enbridge’s hedging strategies and debt financings;
  • Accounting for Enbridge corporate insurance portfolio including two insurance captives;
  • Support the Unify initiative as a key partner;
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors; and
  • Oversee team’s deliverables supporting external financial statement disclosure.
