Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Manager, IT Systems is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and mentoring a team of IT professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This role involves managing various IT systems, including server systems, network infrastructure, wireless networks, cloud services, VoIP services, along with business systems such as ERP, SIS and others. This position works closely with senior management and internal stakeholders to meet the organization’s IT needs and goals. This role also emphasizes the importance of cybersecurity across the institution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leadership: Lead and mentor a team to foster an environment of collaboration and continuous learning. Develop processes and system service delivery ensuring a consistent experience.
  2. Enterprise Resource Planning Management: Oversee implementation and support of business systems (Student, Finance, etc) coordinating with stakeholders as required.
  3. System Management: Oversee IT infrastructure including network, VoIP and server hardware. Create systems with redundancy and disaster preparedness from ground up. Monitor for performance and security making improvements continually.
  4. Relationship Development: Collaborate with stakeholders when analyzing requirements for IT systems. Develop relationships with vendors. Promote an environment focusing on cybersecurity best practices.
  5. Audit: Work with auditors providing them with supporting documents as requested. Maintain documentation in an ongoing capacity to ensure audit compliance.

The successful candidate will have Bachelors in Computing Science and 5 years experience. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Project management;
  • LEAN or Agile methodologies;
  • Enterprise networking products (Cisco/Aruba/Meraki);
  • Server hardware and virtual environment solutions (Hyper-V, Vmware);
  • SIS and ERP knowledge (Unit4 / PowerCampus);
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability
