Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The M&A Manager supports the strategic development Brenntag concerning acquisition and portfolio optimisation activity including target identification, valuation discussions, and driving the internal and external M&A process and building the bridge to the integration activities.
In the M&A process you will be leading the entire M&A process negotiating with owners and advisors of targets through NDA, NBO, due diligence and signing/closing process. You will manage the M&A process interacting with all relevant internal stakeholders and external advisors in the M&A process.
You will report on the development of the progress preparing corresponding approval documents for the respective decision bodies of Brenntag.
The successful individual will work closely with the businesses in the regions and the relevant HQ departments for the M&A process.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Business Administration or similar
- Experience in M&A/DD processes – ideally in transactional services activities of larger M&A consultants
- 5 years of experience in M&A role
- Project management experience required
- Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
- Broad know-how in company valuations
- Deep knowledge of relevant accounting standards
- Very experienced with MS office packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English

- Must be fluent in English, proficient in any Asian language will be a plus
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Managing acquisition projects to execute Brenntag SE’s M&A strategy from project start to post-merger integration
- Support and lead negotiations of share and asset purchase agreements as well as other transaction documents
- Develop optimized transaction structures and contract designs
- Guide and challenge businesses in the preparation and review of business plans
- Plan and coordinate due diligence exercise in cooperation with internal stakeholders and external consultants
- Perform company valuations (based on financial models)
- Preparation of decision materials for the Management Board of Brenntag SE
- Report to Senior Manager M&A
