QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology/software engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ year of experience in leading a team of up to 10+ resources.
  • 5+ years of experience in working in network security roles (engineering, analysis, or design).
  • Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and standards around ZTA
  • Secure network protection experience utilizing security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SASE, DDoS.
  • The ability to rapidly assimilate information and new technologies.
  • The ability to communicate regulatory requirements as it pertains to network security controls to other colleagues.
  • Superb communication skills – both written and verbal (English and French).
  • Attention to detail and ability to probe further into data until completion or resolution.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks independently as directed.
  • Available outside of business hours for urgencies.
  • Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP or similar.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Network Security Manager role requires a highly experienced and active leader with outstanding network and security engineering skills who is passionate about network and cloud security, and readily adapt to changing technologies and requirements. The Network Security Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining IFC’s network security controls, including perimeter security, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and zero-trust networking technology.
The Manager will work closely with the various infrastructure, cloud and security teams, third-party vendors, and contractors to proactively identify potential issues and fix existing problems. You will also lead the administration, operations, and tasks of the team of engineers to drive the vision and goals of IFC and the leaders above the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deep knowledge in advanced networking theory.
  • Deep knowledge in perimeter protection, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, network forensics, and network detection and response.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud networking for major cloud service providers (CSPs) such as Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Excellent communication skills to directly communicate across functional teams toward design goals and solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proficient technical writing and diagramming tools
  • The ability to lead and mentor teams to support existing network initiatives both from an implementation and operational perspective.
  • Develop personnel from a professional development perspective.
  • Participate in advisory boards for change requests and advocate for best practices and conformance with designs and controls.
  • Provide reports of performance and security reporting as required and/or directed to leaders above the role.
