WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You will have strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to provide well-researched, balanced and expert advice supported by data and analysis. Sound capability in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead teams quickly under pressure, often according to complex rules and procedures. The ability to manage competing priorities and operate within a dynamic policy environment. Extensive experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and with political processes.
An understanding of and an interest in domestic, family and sexual violence, disability, data analytics, grants management, seniors and/or the child protection and out-of-home care system is also desirable.

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

The Manager plays a key role in setting the strategic direction of the work in directorate. Drawing on the technical data and financial analytical skills and generalist skills in your team, you will deliver both strategic and operational advice relating to your functional model.
The Manager provides strategic advice and budget management to the executive, input to budget and cabinet submissions, business cases and Outcomes Budgeting planning and reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Manager you will:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team.
  • Provide strategic advice to the executive, including analysis of performance, risks, opportunities and challenges.
  • Lead the team in a range of data analyses to inform and develop strategy, reform, policy and budget decisions.
  • Oversight management of program budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across DCJ and the NSW Government to draw on expertise and inform advice.
