Description:

Lesman Instrument Company, a nationwide provider of process control valves, industrial instrumentation and analytical instrumentation, is in search of a Manager of Materials Management to join our team in Bensenville, Illinois.

The Manager of Materials Management is responsible for continuously improving the materials management function by creating, implementing, and maintaining processes to measure, monitor, and optimize inventory performance and better manage purchasing and materials management tasks.

PREFERRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate/bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use company software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing and warehouse operations management techniques to include analysis and metrics calculation
  • Diligence and responsiveness for general operations workload and exceptions management
  • Understanding of unique vendor/customer requirements
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and propose/implement solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Directs purchasing and materials management team in executing daily operations and solving exceptions
  • Implements and maintains a manage-by-exception approach to warehouse and purchasing operations, using dashboards, metrics, and reports to identify and address issues
  • Maintains and improves inventory management performance by monitoring stockout rates, turns, and E&O
  • Identifies/executes efficiency, optimization, and safety initiatives within relevant functions
  • Reviews, maintains, and generates reports/dashboards, enforcing target metrics through direct feedback
  • Ensures fluid exceptions processing, including expedite requests, item returns, and item repairs
  • Evaluates employee performance by setting objectives, giving regular feedback, and completing annual reviews
  • Ensures compliance with cycle/annual inventory count procedure/schedule
  • Manages scheduling, work assignment, and training process for relevant roles
  • Maintains timely/accurate purchase pricing contracts for system-generated purchase orders
