Description:

MANAGER OF OPERATIONS – MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANY – CANDIDATE MUST COME FROM A HEALTHCARE OR LIFE SCIENCES OR MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANY.

A Toronto medical device company seeks a Manager of Operations. Who will be responsible for all aspects of leases, purchasing, customer service, facilities management, warehousing, and IT administration on a 24/7 basis.
Products are sold to R&D companies, academia, and hospitals. This job, however, has no involvement in sales; rather its purpose is to ensure that the business runs efficiently and effectively at all times and that customers are more than pleased with company deliverables.

SPECIFICALLY :

Project, team, people, everything management.
Business requirements, customer and supplier contracts, inventory, shipping, purchasing, working with freight and courier companies.
Employees, job descriptions, KPIs, budgets, business requirements.
SOPs, compliance with various regulatory agencies - e.g. CBSA and Health Canada.
Office space, computers, office equipment, warehousing, facilities leasing, IT providers.

REQUIREMENTS:

8 to 10 years running operations, preferably for a healthcare or life sciences or medical device company.
3 to 5 years’ managing outsourced IT for a midsize company (~ 50 people).
Strong leadership / management skills; getting people to sign on (that is, assume ownership of concepts, policies and procedures) in a convincing yet congenial manner.
Quick decision maker, with excellent problem solving skills.
Must be very organized and like paying attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of leases, purchasing, customer service, facilities management, warehousing, and IT administration on a 24/7 basis.
