Description:

The role Your primary responsibilities include providing responsive and time-critical expert advice and high-level policy support to the Chief Allied Health Officer and the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer (OCAHO) team, Deputy Director-General, Director-General, and the Minister. Overseeing the day-to-day functions of the office you will ensure policy coordination, executive support, effective finance management, and correspondence functions. You will ensure strategic and coordinated assistance to the Chief Allied Health Officer, aligning with the Department and Government’s agenda. Leading policy advice, your role involves drafting complex briefings, reports, and cabinet submissions to present recommendations and findings to senior leaders, influencing outcomes positively.
As a leader within the OCAHO leadership team you will also foster effective collaboration with relevant internal and external divisions, and governance functions to find solutions for policy matters requiring high-level coordination. Additionally, you will lead consultation, negotiation, and collaboration efforts with key stakeholders to fulfill Division responsibilities Furthermore, you will provide expert advice to project teams and relevant staff, represent the Office on committees and working groups, and support workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunity principles and practices.The successful personThe candidate must enjoy working in a dynamic fast-paced, high performing team who value and promote of importance of allied health across the health sector. Your capabilities should extend to negotiating and asserting yourself while fostering productive and positive partnerships utilising highly developed communication skills.
Success in this position requires a proven understanding of government operations, encompassing both state and national levels. Additionally, you should highlight extensive experience in policy coordination and providing advice within a large and intricate environment. Your record of accomplishment should include the ability to analyse and synthesize information from diverse sources and effectively lead project completion within specified timelines.
Furthermore, the role demands a demonstrated aptitude for managing core office functions including financial management and reporting including procurement processes, coordination of correspondence and reporting functions and other executive support tasks.
