Description:

The role As the Manager of the Office of the Senior Director, you hold a multifaceted role vital to ensuring adherence to service quality standards, health, and safety policies while managing responses to complex requests from senior executives and the Deputy Director-General. Your responsibilities extend to maintaining key relationships, coordinating correspondence, and providing strategic advice to facilitate effective decision-making. Additionally, you lead administrative functions, cultivate team capacity, and coordinate projects aligned with the System Performance Branch’s priorities under the guidance of the Senior Director.
Your pivotal role also involves providing the office executive with expert advice and support, overseeing multiple priorities to ensure high-quality outcomes, and fostering a workplace culture that emphasizes customer service, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. You navigate significant issues, collaborating with internal and external resources to achieve desired outcomes, while also driving the implementation and review of strategies to support ongoing improvement across the office. Through your leadership and coordination, the Office of the Senior Director operates efficiently and effectively in fulfilling its objectives within Queensland Health.
The successful personTo excel in this position, you should possess experience in delivering sensitive, confidential, and intricate support to senior executives within large, complex public sector organizations. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with adept team building and networking abilities, are essential.
Moreover, you should demonstrate proficiency in leading and managing support functions within a division characterized by a decentralized business model for operational areas. Your expertise should encompass strategic thinking, critical analysis, and conceptual understanding, particularly in addressing various social and health priority areas. A record of accomplishment of successfully identifying, negotiating, and implementing solutions to complex challenges is crucial.
While not mandatory, possessing a relevant qualification would be advantageous. Some travel to Hospital and Health Services across Queensland may be necessary. Additionally, compliance with vaccination requirements against specified diseases is a condition of employment for this role, as outlined in Health Employment Directive No. 01/16.
