We are looking for a Manager to join our Oxford Operational Risk team in Toronto. In this role, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in building out and implementing Oxford operational risk management function, creating/ improving the team’s infrastructure and processes and expanding its capabilities. You will assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation of risk deliverables through the Head of Oxford Risk and the Oxford Executive Committee. This role will provide you with the opportunity to interact with senior leadership across the global Oxford business and work closely with OMERS risk teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years relevant work experience in a risk-related function within real-estate, financial services or consulting industries. A risk management designation/certification is desirable.
Professional accounting/auditing designation (CPA, CGA, CMA) considered an asset.
Experience in developing and implementing an operational risk framework within a large and complex organization.
Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills with experience developing and facilitating education sessions with senior management.
Experience managing data, and possessing strong analytical skills to help drive data driven insights for stakeholders
Proven ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise and structured manner.
Demonstrated ability to develop trusted collaborative working relationships across multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and can work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines.
Work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Identification, Assessment, Measurement and Monitoring:
    Assist the business in the ongoing identification, assessment, measurement and monitoring of operational risks;
    Coordinate and assist in the development of Key Risk Indicators, including data gathering capabilities and analysis;
    Develop an approach to, and manage open management action items or areas for further consideration to ensure these items are followed up on consistently;
    Manage the incident escalation process, including root cause analysis and partnering with the business to provide support as needed;
    Working with Oxford’s business leaders to provide support in assessing and addressing operational risk issues within their functions/businesses.
    Identify opportunities to continually enhance and develop existing operational risk management methodology, policies, processes and tools.
