Description:

The Canadian Brewhouse opened its first restaurant in 2001, in Edmonton, Alberta. By adding awesome talent to our team, serious dedication and persistence, and keeping the guest in mind, we’ve grown to 45 Canadian Brewhouses, 1 Canadian Icehouse, 5 Banquet Bars (second restaurant concept), 41 Plantlife Cannabis dispensaries, 5 Ribeye Butcher Shops, and will soon be opening The Italian Bakery’s Tesoro!
The Manager, People Programs and Partnerships plays a critical role in shaping the employee experience across The Canadian Brewhouse group of companies. This position is responsible for managing full-cycle HR Business Partner deliverables, collaborating with senior leaders from our Hospitality, Retail/Grocery, and Cannabis businesses. The successful candidate will lead senior and mid-level management through key People programs, including Annual Reviews and Talent Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders to understand business needs and align HR strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on people-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Develop and implement HR programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and productivity.
  • Lead the design and execution of the annual performance review process.
  • Work with managers to set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and identify development opportunities.
  • Facilitate talent planning discussions, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Legal.
  • Collaborate with external partners, industry associations, and educational institutions to enhance talent pipelines and promote employer branding.
  • Oversee key People programs, such as leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and employee recognition.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, gather feedback, and make continuous improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Advise leaders on best practices and risk mitigation.
  • Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance on communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including business partnering and program management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
