KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in a resource management related discipline
- Leadership ability to manage and develop a team of professionals
- Significant knowledge and demonstrated practical application (5+ years) of the RMA and allied legislation and those provisions relevant to resource consent processes, subdivisions, and implementing District Plans
- Demonstrated ability to deliver customer satisfaction and solutions focus
- Ability to interpret, analyse, and present information, with language and terminology adjusted to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
As the Manager Planning, you’ll be responsible for the Resource Management Planning functions of the Council, including plan changes, District Plan reviews and Resource Management Act monitoring. Your mission? To ensure top-notch, timely advice, service and outcomes are delivered to stakeholders ranging from the Chief Executive to the public.
You’ll also be leading the charge in managing and delivering our Consent Planning function, through the management of planning staff and contracted planners, undertaking resource consent applications including for complex and significant proposals and working across the full range of consenting functions.
Additionally, you will be responsible for Noise Control enforcement delivered via contract, and for the monitoring of issued resource consents.
