Description:

The Policy & Planning department in SBF engages and partners stakeholders from businesses, trade associations and chambers, and government agencies to develop policy positions and recommendations that advocate for the needs and concerns of the Singapore business community. The unit is also responsible for charting out the strategic direction of SBF as the apex business chamber.
The candidate will overseeing the strategic planning, analysis, and reporting process of the organisation and play a supporting role in policy development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least five years of working experience in strategy or corporate planning functions. Experience in policy development or public policy will be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills, able to structure analysis for complex issues, using qualitative and quantitative data to distil insights and propose direction and actionable solutions.
  • Good understanding of and interest in the key concerns and challenges of the Singapore business community, especially SMEs.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills to pull together diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to work well in a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the corporate planning function of SBF including supporting the review of SBF’s strategic direction, overseeing the end-to-end corporate reporting cadence, and increasing the visibility of SBF’s corporate achievements to better articulate our value to our stakeholders and members.
  • Implement Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework by working closely with divisional heads to translate strategic goals into actionable and measurable OKRs and monitoring OKR achievement and progression.
  • Conceptualise and organise key events as part of the corporate planning cycle, such as Council Retreat, Management Retreat, and Workplan Seminar.
  • Coordinate and curate strategic projects to ensure alignment with the goals of the organisation and work with government ministries and agencies and key stakeholders to structure programmes and secure resources and support needed.
  • Monitor policy developments and support the development of position papers and policy speeches that reflect the business community’s feedback and response, gleaned through industry consultation, business engagement, and desktop research.
