We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and global thinking person to manage team responsible for executing our plant engineering and layout activities on a business line level.
Pulp & Energy business line supplies complete pulp mills and process equipment for chemical and mechanical pulp production, as well as biomass- and waste-fueled power plants, boiler islands and related environmental systems. The business line’s customers are mainly pulp producers and power and heat producers. The most important geographical markets are Europe, South America and Asia.
As a Manager, Plant and Layout Engineering, you will lead and manage plant and layout resources overseeing the project execution and competence development. Since you are results driven, you will ensure a systematic and disciplined execution with regular follow-up and support aiming to secure that we have quality, timely and competitive outputs for sales, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, etc. Led by the Plant Engineering Global Head, and in close synchronization with our Engineering Excellence function, you will support the continuous development of our processes and ways to operate in plant & layout engineering in order to take us closer to our strategic goals.
You will be expected to be a strong team player having a forward looking and global perspective and you will naturally look to support the creation and implement a unified way to operate to drive results. You will be fully committed to nurturing a P&E team spirit and oversee that we develop competence and flexibility in our global resource pool. You will proactively drive continuous improvement within your team with a goal of providing a world class customer experience. Your organization will support sales to create winning plans which gives the project the solid foundation of success. This applies for single island projects as well as full mill wide offerings. With your good communication skills you are able to develop and maintain networks with our partner engineering companies.
You will report to Senior Manager, Plant Engineering and will be part of the P&E Plant Engineering Management Team. You will work closely together with other managers within the same team and project execution functions as well as the TUs and BUs within P&E business line.
Position can be located in any major Valmet P&E Finnish location.
Expectations
You have a relevant B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering. You should have 10 years or more working experience from plant engineering and experience working as a manager as well as proven track record of resource management/co-operation on a global scale.
You have good interpersonal skills to build trust in your network, motivate people and manage different expectations. You have broad knowledge of plant engineering practices and processes, and experience from technologies such as wood handling, pulp drying, power and recovery boilers, air emission control, NCG and sulfuric acid plant. You can effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. The position requires good problem-solving and decision-making skills and a forward-looking mindset for creating a true global team.
Excellent proficiency in English both verbal and written communication. Other languages are merited. You have willingness to travel even in short notice.
